It’s so easy . that’s the phrase that struck me on this finally sculpted suite. everyone seems so relaxed and centred from the moment it begins to the final note. there’s a great deal of virtuosity but it is done with such ease you escape in to the music.
I know Beverley’s singing very well But I’ve never heard her sing better. It was a daunting task and she sounds wonderful. The backing sounds intriguing; instead of the usual way of playing behind a singer, each instrument played its own little lines which worked beautifully and became part of the suite.
I congratulate Jamil Sheriff on writing such lovely music and Nadim Teimoori’s saxophone playing is breathtaking.
There’s such an air of easy virtuosity in the group it sounds effortless. At one time we used to have to turn our eyes to America for wonderful imagination, effortless playing and virtuosity. Now we have it on our own doorstep
